Clowning x qi gong/standing meditation, the key similarity: Don't just do something, stand there. As in, can you listen, REAAAAALLLYYY listen, to what "wants" to happen. Both actually require great vulnerability and courage, and a willingness to be open and soft.
@boops_u I am reading "discovering the clown" by christopher bayes and am truly struck by how the freedom he describes is so so similar to what I hear my zen/qi gong teacher point us to

He contrasts “head in game” with: - skin in the game (motivation via rational incentives, but these get re-assessed as time goes on) - ass on the line (motivation via threat, leads to less creativity).

Vgr talks about having your “head in the game” when working. It means you have complete cognitive absorption in what you do, no hedging. I think the only thing more powerful than it is “head in game” *ON COMMAND*. At a moment’s notice, can you fully disconnect or relax?

Horror is cool as a genre, it portrays a psychodrama of our fears & inner demons. The show "Severance" forces you to ask: Would you condemn a part of ourselves to bureaucratic hell if you didn’t need to remember it? And, are you kind of already doing just that?

So platforms have an "enshittification" effect. Okay. But then why did TV have a renaissance after streaming services went mainstream? Before customers were locked into cable, the internet in fact increased optionality and had less of a lock-in effect.

I may get yelled at for this, but I truly believe it: if you want your home to look nice, you have to refuse to let ugly things in and/or expeditiously remove the ugly things already there If all the things you own look nice – not fancy, just nice – the whole effect improves

what would an llm on acid be like? acid = creativity^3 + softer concept boundaries it amplifies non-obvious associative leaps by increasing global brain connectivity. so to TRIP, an LLM would need to skip across concept clusters in latent space me & claude making headway 🤓

Doing standup comedy is a universal credential fr. Similar to a PhD in that way. Both so clearly convey your character (courageous enough to bomb) and your stance towards life (that you found it worthwhile to invest time in) that where you did it matters a lot less

I'm gna "build in public" within my company for our digital app to increase ownership + align ppl on the vision + get input for people who have done this before I'm wondering what has worked, what didn't work? also many ppl at my company are blue collar so they're not
