After a week of follow-up research at the @KlugeCtr, I am happy to finally visit #Guam 🇬🇺 Today I am observing the 79th #GuamLiberationDay. I am grateful for the ability to further educate myself on Guam's history, to connect with so many people, and to enjoy the local food.

Today marks the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Guam, which ended the Japanese occupation of the island. Last week, U.S. Rep. Michael San Nicolas and Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero of Guam participated in an Army Full Honors Wreath-Laying Ceremony in honor of Liberation Day.
