By 2030 software "standards" will have become all but extinct. There will be 1,930,234,013,245 different packages and libraries to accomplish the same thing. 98.9% of them vibe coded partially or fully. None of them will be fully compatible.
Man I'm so tired but Microsoft just can't stop losing. This will be a colossal failure that they will most likely have to backtrack. You can't even physically READ one million lines a month, let alone understand them. And we all know how bad AI is at writing systems level code

You can be a future superhero open source maintainer. Good luck anon.

So if you're reading this - this is the best time to start picking up programming or building your own thing by hand, not vibe coded. Learn networking and self-hosting and install some Linux distros yourself. There'll come a time when the world will need it.

My unpopular opinion: the "vibe-pocalypse" is coming, and it's the open source maintainers who will save us. In 2030 the internet has broken down into incompatible, incoherent slop code that can't be refactored, held together by a few critical open source projects.

Everyone will invent a "better way" to do things and spin it up overnight - and then deploy it into production. Across the globe, another bright would-be dev picks it up and creates their own spin on it. Result? 15,001 incompatible libraries for sending a pdf.

Anyone who's vibe coded a slightly more complex project knows this - AI works in isolation, and is terrible at context. Even when given tools, codebaes written by models are fragmented, using slightly different words to mean the same thing.

It's clear by now that AI has legs—minus a few frauds. But we're building with it so carelessly, so fast, and in such isolation, that everything we create between now and 2030 will inevitably be undermaintained and underdocumented.

👉 This tweet might not age well. By 2030, I predict that there will be no more "world wide web" as we know it today, and most of our computing technology will be reset to the early 21st century. 💾

My latest app just got approved 🚀 TypeLouder plays keyboard sound when you type. Get a taste of a mechanical keyboard without carrying one. https://t.co/4gI8aZDwym

Same. Bluetooth in car never sounds as good as a good ol' aux cable.

Yo bro I heard you like browsers....
This phishing technique is called BITB, browser in the browser. It looks like a pop-up from Google SSO with a legitimate link inside. In reality, it is a simple JavaScript animation where the URL “ https://t.co/uU6KwHfEzR” is just HTML text.

The OS swap salvaged the battery life from 3 hours to 6 hours. It was an old surface 3 that was given away to someone in need. Thanks @system76! And @Linus__Torvalds, creator of Linux & Git
Just spent yesterday and this morning trying to get secure boot working on Pop! Os. Hours of trial and error... Finally got it working! But looked up at the clock and... Wow I forgot what I was doing and skipped two meals. But one happy customer! ✌️
