"I want the best for my kids – the best education, the best opportunities – just like any mom. But it's one thing for me and my husband to choose to be the only family of color on the block. It's another to make our kids be the pioneers."

The RIF at the @usedgov is a civil rights issue. Our children are our future. Instead of worrying about what causes #autism (NOT Tylenol), why not give MORE support the kids who need #SpecialEducation, not less?

Shoutout to @NPRCoryTurner for reporting on the RIF at the @usedgov . As a mom of two kids who need #IDEA accommodations, my heart is broken. https://t.co/hXbXjsk7PR

Multiple sources tell NPR that as part of the Trump administration's latest reduction-in-force, the U.S. Department of Education has gutted the office that handles special education.

Can we just put 2025 in rice? Is that still a possibility? Asking for a friend.

I won’t post a picture of my 7yo going potty unassisted but that sums up my feeling on this. P.O.S.
RFK JR: And these are kids who will never pay taxes, they'll never hold a job, they'll never play baseball, they'll never write a poem. They'll never go out on a date. Many of them will never use a toilet unassisted

What in the Actual F???? I need to calm down and gather my thoughts. I’ll be back in a minute. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
BREAKING: In a bizarre moment, RFK Jr. exposes his own warped beliefs that autistic children will "never pay taxes, never hold a job...never use a toilet unassisted." This is the Health and Human Services Secretary. This is insane. https://t.co/wSkP0ElVPS

No network can take away the fact Joy Reid has broken barriers, informed the people, and spoke truth to power every night on @MSNBC’s #TheReidOut. Her voice is too powerful. Whatever comes next, we’ll be watching, supporting, and uplifting! #WinWithBlackWomen #WeNeedJoy

@Mike_D70 If you find yourself arguing against sign language, that should be a signal that it’s time to do some real self evaluation.

I love watching white people do the wobble. I mean, I don’t even try. But they make me feel better about myself.

Pro tip: When people of color tell you something racist is going on, listen to them. Don’t spin it away.

To be honest, all it does is highlight the lack of curiosity about us, in general. For Black people to navigate this world, we have to know about white people. They, however, never have to actually know anything about us or how our history is truly American history.
I’m just curious do white people understand why black institutions or anthems exist? It’s not because people just woke up one day and said let’s make an HBCU or an anthem it’s was out necessity because of things like slavery, segregation and Jim Crow. When they wrote that anthem

@jemelehill You don't find it strange that Tim was all bout calling people weird, when he has an autistic son that may very well act a little bit weird???

I celebrate every word my nonverbal daughter says, so I’d throw a party over “That’s my dad!” It really breaks my heart that people are making fun of #GusWalz. He is a human being.
