@curatingChurros They market themselves as "workspace where better, faster work happens." But it's high time/effort to set up and then you have to maintain it and keep it up to date. So it can become a black hole of busywork.

Unpopular opinion: Notion is actually high effort and doesn’t help boost productivity

@pa1ge Does any note taker actually boost productivity? I would argue that the productivity boost comes from *wanting* to do stuff. Notion does that for some people

@pa1ge Yeah I’m with you on that. Trick is to never do any set up and just ignore productivity theater! I just use the default links and toggles out of the box

@pa1ge @curatingChurros Exactly, that’s why I love using templates or creating my own templates to help people without making it too complicated. There’s a fine line between too much & too little— that’s where finding the balance helps make Notion useful for me!

@pa1ge @curatingChurros Black Hole of Busywork. I like that!. Everyone raves about Notion and half the time a Google sheet would work just fine. Ours is a mess with a ton of outdated pages that haven’t been archived.

@pa1ge @curatingChurros "Black hole of busy work" is copywriting gold. If I were a Notion competitor, I'd use this on marketing collateral!
