Just no way to manage the morale and motivation of resident doctors to stay in training and continue to work in an under resourced and increasingly chaotic NHS. Extra training posts aren’t a gift to doctors, they’re a workforce necessity.

The threats my @Keir_Starmer to withdraw training places looks like a very big misstep. - Firstly it harms the public. - Secondly you are threatening a group who have seen their terms and conditions attacked daily by their employer. This is just another Tuesday for them.

Plumbers have a £90 an hour callout charge, corporate lawyers are billed at £1000 an hour. Resident doctors deserve £22.

I've given my head a wobble, but I'm still not understanding this: The NHS bosses think staff sickness is a problem... so instead of trying to reduce infection... they're telling the staff to come in sick?

How else will the NHS get the trained doctors it needs in future.? I worked in the NHS for 40yrs but never thought a Labour Govt would be so vindictive.

The NHS’s solution to rising sick leave? Threaten staff to come in sick anyway, or face losing jobs. Not only is this completely counterproductive - contagious staff will spread it to other staff and the cycle continues - but also to vulnerable patients! Pure negligence. 😡

When Starmer was in opposition, all he ever spoke about was the NHS, and how his mum, sister and wife worked for it. He spoke about how grateful they, and he, were for the care his parents received when they were ill. He said the NHS would be safe with him. He lied.
