Eyre Street from Furnival Street, including (left) Blyde and Co. Ltd., Wallace Steel Works, steel manufacturers. Gives an idea of the original width. It became a horrible dual carriageway which needed subways and footbridges to cross, thankfully much better these days #Sheffield

Another enlighting @footballheaven , no idea of any team news or managers thoughts ahead of the weekends fixtures. No phone calls from fans (well about football). However, it seems Chansiri is still at Wednesday and American film stars own Wrexham so all good then.

Ebenezer School, bottom view is from Ebenezer Place. The top picture is from 2011, when the building was a burnt out shell. It could so easily have been lost. Amazing work to see it beautifully restored #Sheffield

Neepsend Bridge, Rutland Road over the River Don looking upstream. The old toilets you see jutting out over the river , show adequately the attitude towards Don at the time 💩

Fascinating view of Barker's Pool , from 100 years ago. Newly erected War Memorial, bottom centre buildings are being cleared for the City Hall. Centre of the picture is the Albert Hall, with the adjoining buildings curving onto Cambridge Street. St Matthews Church extreme right

A curious building, quite a broad grand frontage, but the old Red Lion runs behind it, so it's only a shallow space. Some buildings on Picture Sheffield are photographed dozens of time. I can't one of this that more than 20 years old.

This building on West Street has a date stone of 1914. I've failed to a picture of any age to put with it. There were plans for a wine submitted, but these have been amended to a takeaway with living accommodation. These suggest the frontage will be restored 🙏 #Sheffield

One of my favourite scenes from Young Guns, the impeccable charismatic Terence Stamp, playing John Tunstall. Tunstall was born in Hackney, Stamp only a stones throw away in Stepney. In reality Tunstall was only 24 when he was gunned down, not much older than Billy the Kid.

Walter Trickett and Co. Ltd., spoons, forks and cutlery manufacturers, Anglo Works No. 23 Trippet Lane and Holly Street looking towards West Street. Apologies for the sunshine. There's far to much of it this summer, spoiling my pictures #Sheffield

Good news, various food outlets have failed up there. The Boom Battle Bar seems to work, so the Escape Room will be a good fit. Nandos up there still flying the flag for the eateries #Sheffield.

The Wig & Pen on Campo Lane was part of my boozing circuit in the early 80's. Its been sad to see it closed since Covid times. Happily under the name Beaten Track at The Wig & Pen it's having a new lease of life. You can sit out back over looking Paradise Square too. #Sheffield

Later this year, Oseyo Korean supermarket/department store, plan to open their largest-ever store on The Moor. Bringing back to life the old Quadrant Stationers store. Empty for many a year #Sheffield
