The billionaire owners can afford to pay for their own stadiums. These teams are viewed politically as community assets and not the multi billion enterprises they are and to keep them from leaving, they get taxpayer $ for stadiums. Oakland lost all 3 of their teams for saying no.

The state of Kansas is putting up 1.8 billion towards the new Chiefs stadium. The #Browns are getting a $600 million loan via the state's unclaimed funds, which they will repay, and $300 million from the city of Brook Park, which will be recuperated via on-site (thus voluntary)
