I am deeply saddened to share the passing of Rabbi Alvin Kass, our Chief Chaplain, and one of the longest-serving members of the New York City Police Department. Rabbi Kass joined the NYPD in 1966, at the age of 30, becoming the youngest chaplain in the Department’s history.

Recently, your Quality-of-Life Division officers joined together with the @NYPD110Pct Q-Team to address derelict vehicles & garbage under the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens. With the assistance of @NYCParks & @FDNY, multiple vehicles were towed, helping to clean up the community.

After observing a vehicle with illegal tints, Q-Team Boy conducted a car stop. Upon further investigation, the operator was driving with a suspended driver's license and in unlawful possession of a firearm (pictured), expandable baton, brass knuckles, and forged parking plaques.

Early Monday morning, thieves were driving around stealing catalytic converters from vehicles. Your 79th Precinct Q Team set out to find them and did just that - catching them in the act! Ten catalytic converters were recovered, along with tools and the stolen vehicle they used.
