What color would you pick? A color telephone is so beautifully practical in your kitchen. Pssst…you’ll enjoy your home more with a color telephone. Trust me. 😉 I’ll take fire engine red one. Pacific Telephone, 1950s #VintageAd

@mister_mulligan I recall the light blue. Maybe available after the ‘50s.

@nostalgiapix25 We had ivory or light beige, then yellow later. Red would have been so cool.

@nostalgiapix25 Red would make me think I'd be incoming calls from a foreign power about something or other awful happening. Maybe a light powder blue or the good ol' standard black.

@nostalgiapix25 I think ours was light green with 12 foot chord that always twisted around itself.

@nostalgiapix25 @LaurasMiscMovie When they first introduced the colored phones they charged more for them, so they carefully marketed them. When Dad got his first apartment, the sales rep said, "What color is your apartment?" Dad, not wanting to pay extra, said, "Black." He got the cheapest color.

@nostalgiapix25 @tadool The first one I remember was early ‘60s, black rotary wall model. We moved in the mid ‘60s and got an ivory Touch-Tone wall model. Bell Atlantic, but like Pacific Telephone part of the Bell system.

@nostalgiapix25 Avocado green like the one we had upstairs in my house growing up. It was outside in the hall with a very long cord that would reach each of the bedrooms.

@nostalgiapix25 I remember when you could not get a red phone. That color was reserved for special users. Black, beige and I think white were your choices until the princess came out.

@nostalgiapix25 I had a red table model. Love the smooth action of the rotary dial. The handset had a nice feel to it.
