Isn't it easier to send the child home or call the parents in for not following rules or whatever? Couldn't the phone be switched off and confiscated? This entire, rather bizarre performance - also recorded and uploaded on social media - is someone's very intentional power trip.

Why do parents allow their kids to go to school with cell phones ?

@njokingumi Then they complain about vandalism. Theyโ€™re the ones showing them how to vandalise in the first place.

@njokingumi Would these kids have listened to their parents if they told them not to go with the phones to school, I doubt. Though this is extreme, do you know that those phones jeopardize the careers of teachers and other innocent students when they are used to steal exams.

@njokingumi @beth_kasinga They didn't have to 'Atwoli' the phones. Should have summoned the parents for quiet word with the school administration. Ama the parents were requested for a chat over the matter wakapuuza? Possible, vile wengine wao wanadharau walimu.

@njokingumi No. They knew what would happen and had an opportunity to leave the cellphones at home.

@njokingumi This sends wrong message 2 kids that when I dont agree with something it is OK 2 destroy it. The school can simply hold on 2 the phone, call the parent 2 pick kid & they come back after 2 weeks. The pain of back N forth will make the parent stress 2 the kid 2 do the right thing

@njokingumi Is there a reason to involve parents here? same as punishing parents to purchase barbed wire while it's the students only who deemed the school compound small
