The new system: 💲 Creates significant savings 🏊♀️ Allows us to reopen the docks up to two weeks earlier Check out this system in action while you enjoy a snack at the Café & Bistro, open Friday to Sunday, from 9 am to 4 pm.

3️⃣ Propellers are placed in strategic areas and push floating ice away from the docks 4️⃣ The docks are protected by the breakwater and building itself, as the river flows eastwards

How does the new de-icing system work? 1️⃣ The bubbler system uses propellers and tubes that sit on the riverbed and emit bubbles 2️⃣ Deep water doesn’t freeze, so the bubbles bring warmer water to the surface to reduce the rate of ice formation

Swimming season is over, but thanks to bubbles, the docks are still in! 🥂 Previously, we had to disconnect the NCC River House’s floating dock, barge it to Blair Road boat launch, remove it with a crane, and do the reverse in spring. This was a lot of work!
