When conditions allow, voluntary repatriation offers a chance to begin again. Today, 99 Burundian refugees returned home from Kenya - including children seeing their parents’ country for the first time. With support from UNHCR and the GoK, over 270 will return home this week.

As the #16Days campaign begins, we stand with communities to protect women and girls, including refugees. Protecting them cannot wait for one campaign. Online abuse is real violence. Let’s stand against it every day.

📚 Literacy is the first step to opportunity. In today’s world, it means more than reading books. For refugee and Kenyan youth - from Kakuma to Dadaab to Nairobi - it also means finding their place in the digital space. #InternationalLiteracyDay

Lich Gatkoi grew up in Kakuma as a South Sudanese refugee. In 2020, he @GlobalRefugee20 with a simple idea: if young people could share a court, they could share a future. 🏀 Now, the game is opening doors to education and opportunity for both refugees and the host community.

We also discussed several major launches scheduled for early October — including the Kuchal Sports Complex, the Turkana West Education Hub, and ambulances at Kakuma Subcounty Hospital.

I shared the status of KISEDP officer recruitment to oversee key areas such as education, energy, environmental conservation, and economic inclusion.
