don't remember russia being banned in 2014 tho... i support banning war criminals (not just russia), but i do not support lying, especially about what my country and my people went through
it's not hard not to lie while you support your cause
I never cared about Eurovision but the hypocrisy is quite astounding. For the record, Russia was banned from exactly a day after it invaded Ukraine.

In 2017 Russia’s Julia Samoylova (Eurovision entrant) was banned from entering Ukraine due to a performance in Crimea in 2015 (automatic 3 yr ban for entry to the Country). Eurovision was in Kyiv that year.
So, not banned from the contest, banned from entry to the Country.
