My thumbnails for the painting! The top one is extracted from creating those sheets and the bottom one is my interpretation of that.

Canopy

Here is a typical daily thumbnail sheet for me that helps me find future potential paintings for me to make and share. I compile lots of photographs, make a layer above them and fill it with black, and then cut rectangular holes onto the black layer to reveal these new images.

Another part of my process is creating new thumbnails from my first abstract thumbnail. This new thumbnail acts as my interpretation of the first. It is also the part where I begin to imagine what objects are present in the final painting.
