On October 4, 2022, a Mobile County Jury found Jamorris Cage guilty of two counts of Sexual Extortion. Today, Cage was sentenced by to the max 20 years to serve in each count. State was represented by ADA Johana Bucci.

Today, Amber Kuta was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole for the 2019 Murder of Tracy Griffin. She was also sentenced to Life for Abuse of Corpse. Consecutively.

Arraignment was held today for Elijah Persons who is charged with Rape 1st, Sodomy 1st, Sexual Torture, Robbery 1st, Resisting Arrest, & Attempt to Elude. He pled not guilty & the cash components of bond were removed by the Court over the State's objection.

Arraignment was held today for Zeshan Fayyaz and Lener Solis. Defendants pled not guilty and were set for a preliminary hearing on 11/17/22. Bonds remain set at $1.5 million cash.

Today, Altonio Spencer was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole after being found Guilty in April 2022 of Robbery 1st and Robbery 1st of a Pharmacy.

Yesterday, a Mobile County Jury found Amber Kuta GUILTY of Murder and Abuse of a Corpse, in the brutal killing of Tracy Griffin. Kuta will be facing Life or Life Without at sentencing on Oct 18, 2022.

Kenny Lee Campbell was found GUILTY in the Murder of 27 yr old Lelia Smith. Campbell will be facing Life or Life Without at sentencing set for November 3, 2022.

Today, Paul Stephen Bailey pled guilty to two counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd. Bailey, a former lieutenant with MCSO, was sexually abusing his two stepdaughters who were under the age of 12 at the time. He will now have to be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.

Yesterday, a Mobile County Jury found Reginald Blevins GUILTY of Robbery 1st and Assault 2nd. With his prior convictions, Blevins is facing Life Without the Possibility of Parole. The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Coy Morgan.

This week, Fiji, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office Facility Dog, has been making new friends! Facility dogs use their commands and behaviors to alleviate stress and anxiety for victims in court. MCDA is so thankful for the comfort Fiji provides for our brave victims!

A bond hearing was held today for Reuben Gulley who is charged with Murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Randon Lee. He was granted no bond and his arraignment is set for 8/23/22.

Today, Clarke Raines was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole for the Murder of his mother, Kay Raines. He was also sentenced to 10 years for each of the 13 counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.

A bond hearing was held today for defendant Archie Petite. Petite was arrested in connection to the May 31, 2022 fatal shooting of 14-year-old Ciara Jackson. NO BOND was granted. Preliminary hearing is set for next week.

Today Mobile County District Attorney’s Office said goodbye to Communications Director, Nancy Manlangit. Nancy advocated for non-profits, coordinated with our partnering agencies, and handled all media relations. We are so sad to see Nancy go! Good luck Nancy! We all miss you!

A preliminary hearing was held today for defendant Algernon Grayson for the 2022 Easter Sunday murder of Robert McMillian. Grayson was granted NO BOND and charges were bound over to the Grand Jury.

A preliminary hearing was held today for defendant Cody White. White is charged with Murder for shooting and killing his father, Hugh White III, on 5/24/22. The case was bound over to the Grand Jury.
