I really hate the term "age appropriate fashion" when someone is referring to people to 30+ years of age. Some of us didn't have the money to dress how we wanted when we were teenagers or in our 20s. Let 30+ year olds wear whatever the heck they want.

I got my first OWN piece of clothing (aka no hand-me-downs from my 4 siblings because we grew up poor) when I was 17. Now at almost 26 I am finally able to buy clothing that I like. I finally can express my style and I sure as hell won't stop when I hit 30/40/50.

"Age appropriate" often refers to needlessly formal or character-less clothing that makes you fit in with other adults in formal/adult spaces. Fuck that noise. If I wanna wear fishnet tights, boots and graphic tees with 45, you won't stop me.
