Barry Sanders 1988 season is ridiculous. If you include his bowl game - which didn’t count in season stats back then - 12 games, 2,850 yards (237.5 YPG!!!), 42 rush TD. Just insane stuff.

I think it’s the want to. He has been and will always be a capable HC. But the want to isn’t there like it was (understandably after 20 years-there is always going to be burn out associated with anything in the amount of time).
I’ve been telling you this for weeks, many within the OSU administration have lost faith that Mike Gundy wants to/is capable of leading OSU moving forward. I didn’t know all the details, they hadn’t been formally discussed until today, but a power struggle was always coming.

Lots of opinions on Mike Gundy and Oklahoma St football. Here is my take: going 3-9 is beneath the standard of OSU football but not fireable. Making the “poor” comments in today’s fundraising and NIL era of college football is the real reason the seat is so hot for Gundy.

This is not correct, but not too far off. What has happened at Oklahoma State doesn’t happen without Mike Gundy, period. But it also doesn’t happen without Boone Pickens monitory contributions. Over past 5 years Gundy has slipped. It’s that simple. Nothing more, nothing less.
It all goes back to T Boone. Gundy resented the man so much he actually convinced himself OSU did what it did over the last 20 yrs because he’s so smart w/scheme/hiring/developing. What actually gave OSU a leg up was Boone building facilities & paying top dollar for coaches…
