Today’s NYS Assembly Housing Committee hearing painted a clear picture of the affordable housing crisis facing our state. Communities outside of New York City are desperate for relief from rising rents and we must protect their ability to opt in to the #ETPA.

#OTD in 1965, our government created HUD to help house our nation’s poor and working people, seniors, veterans, & kids. In the following years, HUD was chronically understaffed & underfunded, making it harder to keep folks stably housed.

Billionaires are stealing from working families, funding violence, & fueling the largest wealth grab in U.S. history. Poor & working people keep our country running. We must fight for a housing system that puts people over profit & takes care of the poorest among us. #LaborDay
