No big surprise here: we hear North Carolina coach Scott Forbes is promoting Jesse Wierzbicki from volunteer to full-time assistant. I’ve long regarded Wierzbicki as a rising star in the coaching ranks — outstanding hitting instructor who puts together impressive game plans.

Many images come to mind when I think of Coach Fox. But the one that I'll never forget is this one, taken after UNC clinched its spot in the 2018 CWS. He so badly wanted those players to experience Omaha, and I've never seen anyone as happy as he was after sweeping Stetson.

No matter what kind of day you were having, it got better when you saw Albert. He was a treasure and I am blessed to have gotten to know him. Albert was the epitome of Carolina Baseball. RIP
