Chances are you won't spot Santa's sleigh in the sky tonight as he's got such a busy schedule. It's not the real thing but there is, however, a knitted version you can see in Sea Mills, Bristol. Positioned on top of a post box, it is a recent work by Judy McIntosh. Happy Xmas.

Excellent evening yesterday at The Wave, Bristol. Screening of the @chrisburkard film 'The Forgotten Coast', followed by a very informative talk and Q&A session with Chris who, kindly, also signed my copy of 'The Oceans'. Great film, great images, great speaker.

Go to The Launderette at 145 Cheltenham Road, Bristol until 17 November but don't take your washing. Instead you can see an exhibition of photographs by Herbert Shergold who had a Bristol studio in the 1950s/60s. He photographed everyday people in the style of Hollywood stars.

Multiple images/footage of Oasis on ITV News this evening. Nothing against the band but an extraordinary amount of time given to coverage of the ‘comeback’. One heck of a lot of free advertising.

If politicians are going to take part in broadcast media interviews from home they would do well to spend a couple of hundred pounds on a decent webcam and microphone. People in badly lit rooms and sounding as if they are at the bottom of the sea don’t appear very convincing.

Often when there is a major photographic exhibition, an accompanying book is published. Is it better to read the book before or after visiting the show? Thoughts at:

Whatever your politics, it is hard to hear Sunak outside No. 10 and not condemn it as a truly dreadful speech/party political broadcast. I don’t support any particular party - I just want politicians on all sides to be honest and behave like adults.

A welder working at Bristol's Kingsweston Iron Bridge which dates back to around 1800. After being closed since 2015 following impacts from lorries, the bridge has now been restored and swung back into place. Its new position is raised by about 1 metre .

Such a shame to see the #CopenhagenFire damage to the Stock Exchange and watch the iconic spire falling in flames. Glad I had the chance to see it during a visit back in February. A devastating blow for a wonderful city.

A little proof from high up on a wall in Stokes Croft, Bristol, UK that you can always find places to cultivate crops even in the city.
