Self on Melvin Council's late dunk... I didn't think the dunk was inappropriate because of the speed (he had) and they were grabbing for his shirt. Everybody was still playing. If people had stopped playing, it would've been inappropriate. #KUbball

Self said he thought the #KUbball crowd was great and way better than things were trending... He was especially pleased with how many students showed up. "I thought (the crowd) was good. It wasn't UConn at Allen Fieldhouse, but I thought it was still very good."

Self said the images of trainers working on Peterson on the bench was nothing... "I think we do that a lot." "But he (trainer Bill Cowgill) said he had nothing in his hamstring or (the) back of his knees."

Self on the talk around why Darryn Peterson's not playing: I think it frustrates him. It's the world we live in today. It's BS, though... #KUbball "If he would've had a compound fracture, no one would say anything b/c you can see it. This you can't see."

Self said he was only planning on playing Peterson 27 minutes max today, so him sitting late was no real surprise... #KUbball He added that he didn't think they played great with him. A lot of standing. Some watching. And he let a lot come to him instead of attacking more.

Tre White on DP: Even thought it was limited minutes tonight, he made the game so much easier for everyone. I got so many open looks b/c of him Bryson Tiller said playing without DP is also something they're used to, so that made closing time more comfortable, too. #KUbball

Mizzou forward Mark Mitchell said the Tigers treated their prep on Darryn Peterson like he had played every game. Said he's got too much talent and is too good to look at it like he's been out... #KUbball

Gates said he felt like this was a road game for Mizzou, which, technically, it was given that KU hosted this one. He says he felt it was probably 90% Kansas and 10% Missouri in the crowd... #KUbball

Trainers are looking at/working on Darryn Peterson on the end of the #KUbball bench right now. Using some kind of roller to work on maybe the right leg. He had been in the game but came out rather quickly. Something to watch.
