There is an EMS problem in Monroe County. When will our leaders try to fix it? EMS workers are over worked and under paid. Need to pay them along with a pension. Just like FD & PD.

They need to be paid like PD & FD. I have seen great paramedics leave to become nurses & PA’s.

issue. You have ems workers working two full time jobs to makes ends meet. How can FF in monroe county make 70k+ a year but EMS workers barely make 20 an hour? Its an issue within the state.

Only fix is to force FD to take it like many other communities. That will NEVER happen. Until then, unfortunately, people will die needlessly.

Niagara County is going to try and fix it by starting their own EMS to help out ambulances throughout the county and hire from volunteers in the county and start a basic at $20ish/hr with benefits

100% agree however it's a private company and they only contract with the city and Monroe County so they don't care as long as they are under contract... Maybe the ones doing the contract work should be forced to ride along to see what happens when they get a call..
