When at rest, the volume of a human stomach can be as little as 25mL. Through its flexibility, the stomach can expand to fit up to 4L worth of food in it at a given time. Excuse me while I dig into a large tub of ice cream! @UofGFoodProf #Food2150 #Kong

Interesting to read about the differences in gastric acid secretion in the human body between thought, sight, smell, and taste of appetizing food. The thought of something tasty was found to have the greatest impact on gastric acid secretion. @UofGFoodProf #Feldman #FOOD2150

My Grandpa always blamed over eating on having "large plates". Turns out, he is actually right for once! Environmental factors such as plate size and socializing increase food consumption. I guess he now has a valid excuse.@UofGFoodProf #Wansink #Food2150
