“What do you like about being White?” I asked this question to anti- Critical Race Theory advocate Christopher Rufo. He stated that Whiteness was always only painted as negative, so I asked him to offer something different. Peep his response:

White people created the concept of race to create this pseudo-hieracrchy of master and subservient races. To my understanding CRT opens that discussion to a 21st century POV. If white don’t want to discuss it why did y’all create it?
@marclamonthill
This whole clip is cringe, & the question is profoundly stupid.
Only a racist worldview thinks having a certain color of skin describes anything about them other than the color of their skin.
@marclamonthill
Whether you meant it or not, this question was a trap. If he said something good about being white, immediately people would call him a racist.
The point is not that there’s something good about being or a particular race, but that there’s nothing wrong with it either.
@marclamonthill
He's right. Nothing. There's nothing special to being white. There's nothing special to being black, or asian or anything. Pride isn't supposed to be for what you are but what you've done. Accomplishments.
@marclamonthill
How do you answer such a question tho? I wouldn’t know what to say either, bc I don’t attribute anything I like or love about myself to be associated with me ‘being white’? Matter of fact, I don’t attribute anything that I like or love, to my race at all?!
@marclamonthill
No matter who you are - black or white - there are some people who will judge you based on nothing but the most negative stereotypes that can be assigned you based on group identity.
Others will treat you, and everyone else they meet, as an individual.
@marclamonthill
What would you say if someone asked "What do you like about being black?"
My follow-up to you - do you make assumptions about people because they're "white"?
@marclamonthill
He answered this perfectly. Me being “black” doesn’t mean I automatically share culture with all black people or have collective trauma. We are individuals who are human first and foremost.
Hill was trying to trap Rufo and Rufo didn’t take the bait. Smart man.
@marclamonthill
nice try with that disingenuous trap. How about we judge people by their character as opposed to their race (as Dr. King would have it)? Well done
@realchrisrufo
@marclamonthill
Props to
@realchrisrufo
for refusing to "indulge you" by the reproduction of racialist theories and for insisting on univesalism and its values. To me, this is what anti-racism has always been.
@marclamonthill
The left loves to have this us vs them mentality. Critical race theory is racist, it’s divisive, and it’s evil. Anything that doesn’t promote loving people and believing that we’re all one blood created equally in the image of our God should not be fed to our children.
@marclamonthill
You tried it.
It didn’t work.
@realchrisrufo
couldn’t come up with anything he likes about being white because he isn’t a racist.
You can come up with a lot of things you hate about him being white because you’re a racist.
That’s the problem.
