If Fr Seraphim Rose had written "Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future" today, he would have included a chapter on Jordan Peterson.

@maksimologija how do you what Fr. Rose would write? How do you know what he would think?

@Magpie_Hunter Well obviously it's a conjecture. But I think he would view JBP's material as promoting a sort of psycho-symbolic religiosity which allows for a selective appropriation of elements of Christianity on non-Christian terms — contributing to the syncretistic "religion of the future"

@maksimologija What three topics do you think the chapter would cover?

@NoeticSpring Maybe: — his basic psychoanalytical outlook; — his forays into (esp. Biblical) symbolism; — the Wirkungsgeschichte of this, proximately within (rapidly secularizing) North American "Judaeo-Christian" culture, and remotely within the broader narrative of the religion of the future

@maksimologija Him and Vavaeke. But Jordan seems les bent on making a new religion. He is stuck with interpreting Christianity through a distorted Jungian lense. A man with much deeper understanding of both Christianity and Jung a Serbian Psychiatrist and Philosopher Vladeta Jerotić.

@PavlovicMilosav Yes, I agree, although sometimes Jerotić was still a bit too close to perennialism for my liking.

@maksimologija I don’t know what Father Seraphim Rose would have wrote, but it appears to my humble eyes, that Jordan Peterson is no friend of Christianity.

@maksimologija Well that depends. What do you mean by "if"? What do you mean by "had"? What do you mean by "written"? What do you mean by "included"? And what do you mean by "chapter"?
