Recent conversation with @nayibbukele: “Look at this classroom we’re renovating” “How many are you doing?” “Just this one” “Only one? I thought you’d do at least 100” “Oh, okay I’ll ask @stacyherbert—” “We should do 500 classrooms” You can just do things 🤷♀️

Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Spain all have prison labor, some of them even mandatory. But when El Salvador launches a voluntary program, it’s “normalization of slavery” 😂
@LinaSeiche @nayibbukele Normalization of slavery through prison labor is a dystopian non-starter.

We kicked off renovations at the first of 500 classrooms 🥳 Each room gets new floors and color and its own library. A big reason why I love El Salvador is that here we can add our little part to something greater. There’s fulfillment in knowing what you do has staying power.
Kick-off 🎉 The Bitcoin Office and @LinaSeiche’s Little HODLer team have begun renovating 21 more classrooms across El Salvador 🇸🇻 The Classroom Project oversees the renovation of 500 classrooms under El Salvador’s educational reform. Check back in soon to see the new rooms 👀

Side note: if you think your position of power makes you untouchable and exempts you from having to answer to the public, you probably hate democracy. Yes, also as a woman.
Women do not have to justify their presence in positions of power, or their capability to lead an organisation like the United Nations.

If you can ruin a nation faster than ever, the inverse must also be true: that you can fix a nation faster than ever.

Because if you send them there, they stop killing innocent people, parents stop fearing their children won’t return from school, shop owners stop choosing between extortion and execution, and kids get a childhood full of hope, not full of death. Is that “defense” enough for you?

@elonmusk El Salvador is living proof that high crime is a deliberate choice by the state. https://t.co/QpgkNqqA2W
How to arrest your way out of crime. El Salvador proved you CAN end crime if you want to. But few people know how @nayibbukele actually did it. Here’s how he defeated 3 criminal organizations and 76,000 gang members and proved that crime is a deliberate choice by the state 🧵

You know, when Bukele fixed Nuevo Cuscatlán as mayor, people like you claimed it was easy because it was “just a small town.” When he fixed San Salvador as mayor, they said it was easy because it was “just one city.” And when he fixed El Salvador as president, they said it was
