some of you guys have to come to terms with the fact that the odyssey isn't real. you cannot go to greece and see a cyclops.
That trailer for The Odyssey starting with “tell me about my dad” is like nails on a chalkboard. The term “dad” was invented a good 2,000+ years after the Odyssey was written

what’s with everyone assuming that filmmakers are stupid before considering they might have a specific artistic vision they’re trying to achieve. is it just a general anti-art attitude taking over the culture??

Only 4 films from Black directors with none by Black women or from Africa on a 100 film list in 2025 is startling. Many films I wish made it, particularly Garrett Bradley’s TIME and Mati Diop’s ATLANTICS.
The whole list is finally out! I’ll share some of my impressions later but what surprised you? Any omissions that startled? Is everything ranked where it ought to be, in your opinion?

There’s undoubtedly immense difficulty in curating a list of 100 best anything, but if your project omits major film industries, artistic movements, and entire continents, it’s probably time to go back to the drawing board.
