Weird to think @BalancedDeFi governance is no more. Thanks to those who joined us over the last 4.5 years. Community ownership may be gone, but our journey is far from over. Balanced v2 will take us to the next level. But first, we have one more addition to ship for v1. 👀

Like everything we do, no design is final until we actually ship. We’ve been toying with some alternative concepts for the market modals that use an illustration to make the action even clearer. They’re also SVGs, so we can animate them to elevate the interaction.

The chain/asset logos help to reinforce each action. But the background animations tie everything together. They add a subtle depth that feels soothing — and stays out of your way. We’d never sacrifice performance for aesthetics, so SVG animations help us keep the files small.

One of my favourite parts about Balanced v2 is the new modal design. Present during every interaction, the utilitarian style wasted its potential. Visually appealing content is easier to read and pay attention to, and the new modals are hard to ignore.

Balanced has used line icons since the beginning. They worked with our utilitarian aesthetic, but they were super bland. Balanced v2 adds depth through layers and gradients, so we created new icons with the weight and presence to match. Embarrassed it took us this long. 😅

You can now convert your $ICX to $SODA on Balanced. Visit the Migrate tab on the Trade page to move between them at a 1:1 rate. If you have $sICX, swap it for ICX via the legacy exchange first. SODA swaps are not yet available, so hold onto ICX if you want to trade.

Tired of staring at pending modals? We were too. After you request a swap, the modal will close so you can move on to your next task. View swaps from the Recent Activity dropdown, and cancel any that fail. Or just wait 5 minutes for the auto-cancel to kick in.

Swap or bridge? You don’t care, you just want to get your assets where you need them. So we merged the Swap & Bridge tabs into a single section. No need to think about which tab to use to complete your task. Just choose which assets to start and end with, so you can get going.
