@lesliejosephs @thatjohn @flightradar24 Flew into and out of schiphol twice last week. Chaos. Waited hours for checkin and then security. Barely made it to the plane for return flight to Cape Town despite 4 hour arrival at airport. Queues everywhere. People missing flights. Flights cancelled without warning.

@lesliejosephs @flightradar24 @thatjohn I remember @HamburgAirport has been the same during summer holidays prior to the pandemic - long lines and wait times particularly at baggage reclaim. They just couldn’t find enough baggage handlers who were willing to work under those conditions.

@lesliejosephs @flightradar24 @thatjohn So obviously right. Was heartening to hear John state this on the Pod! They also need to recruit those who need to do the vetting of airport potential employees as well to get the other staff in place quicker.

@lesliejosephs @thatjohn @flightradar24 I've had to mute all the US airlines here for a bit because the feeds are nothing but customer complaints about cancelled flights and lost bags. I can't imagine working in social media, much less front line on board or at the airport.
