We can safely say that Japan has to be one of the most friendly, warm and welcoming countries in the world and we have had an experience that would be hard to repeat. We return as better people due to their hospitality.

Today was a challenging day as we were shocked and horrified at the horrors of the Hiroshima bomb museum and then inspired by the courageous story of an 88 year old survivor. We left our peace cranes that we made last night at the memorial to the thousands of children who died

So as we draw to the end of the day in Japan we have been making a selection of peace cranes to leave at the memorial to the thousands on young school children who were killed in the Hiroshima A bomb. A small act of remembrance by our students.

We have had lots of fun on the trip so far. However today's visit to the peace park at Hiroshima was a more sobering experience. Tomorrow we get to hear from a survivor.

So yesterday students on the Japan visit enjoyed a mindful peaceful experience at one of Japan's most spiritual temples. Today is an entirely different experience as we take the bullet train to Hiroshima.

They then went to a Buddhist temple where we were enlightened and given VIP treatment with a behind the scenes tour by an excellent Monk. It was so Zen and such an uplifting experience that Mr H is going to convert!
