I can’t believe I might celebrate the day I’ve dreamt of with so many others. I’m praying for peace and a democratic Syria for all Syrians of all sects. I won’t sleep tonight, thinking about all those families who will be reunited with loved ones soon.

No one can imagine how I feel. I write these words while shaking. My father dared to demand freedom for Syria & has been detained for 12 years with no word about his fate. Seeing detainees released from Hama Prison breaks my heart & sparks dangerous hope. I just want my father!

One can only hope that, very soon, Sednaya, Adra, Branch 235, Mezzeh, Branch 251, Air Force Intelligence, and the countless other prisons under Assad’s regime will be liberated..
