i just don’t understand how people even feel comfortable exposing themselves like that in front of children. i started going to pride the year after i came out. i was 13. my 13 year old cousin can’t go to pride because her parents are uncomfortable w the 18+ shit that is there.
@ursacharm
also if anyone here is uncomfortable going to regular pride bc of that stuff, check whether ur state has a youth pride!! they make sure things are family friendly and safe for children. i generally have a more comfortable time there (although i attend regular pride as well)

I think nudity is natural, and we teach ppl to believe it has to be sexual or wrong. I wouldn’t break the law but in nyc I can legally be topless anywhere a man can. At festivals I wear pasties and there are kids, but the ppl who bring their kids know there’s nudity.

her parents support her identity but nearly any parent would be wary about sending their young child to an event in which people are being overtly sexual

young kids are not creeps 4 being uncomfortable seeing explicit nudity. not all nudity is sexual but a lot of what i have personally seen at pride is intentionally sexual. i’m not saying people can’t express themselves i just can’t fathom wanting 2 expose urself in front of kids
