Can't believe it is the 149th KEA DA this weekend -- hope we can celebrate the 150th anniversary in-person! An incredible upcoming milestone for a union that's been fighting for its teachers since 1857 #KEAProud #UnionStrong

In the midst of going back to in-person instruction, some @JCPSKY @NBPTS candidates are still thinking about Component 1! If that’s you, join me tomorrow afternoon for a PD on preparing for the assessment. If PD Central has already closed registration, email me for the link.

In today's Ky. Board of Education meeting, @KYCommishGlass says KDE has requested an accountability waiver from the federal education department. They're still waiting to hear back on whether that will be approved, but "I think we're gonna be just fine."

I'm going to say this *again* because it doesn't appear to be clicking for folks. Under state law, Kentucky school districts must offer full-time, five days a week, in-person instruction next school year. No full-time NTI. No hybrid schedule. Five days a week.

It appears the folks at EdChoice don't realize this, so I'll say it: An EOA is not an ESA.

Pro-HB 563 reps urge lawmakers to override Gov. Beshear's veto, say superintendents have "an outsized role" in efforts to sway rural legislators decisions; bill advocates also claim costs related to students who leave public schools leave with them as well

We need to share the message that we love our public schools and we deserve more funding, not less! Tomorrow, share a picture of yourself at work and why you became a public educator. Be sure to tag your legislators and use the hashtags #StopHB563 and #KYGA21
