Hey, great stuff. I am a big self-host advocate myself, but I am curious from a business POV. Doesn't self-hosting hurt complex platforms such as Supabase?
Love Supabase, we're using it everywhere!

We don’t mind - if you want to save $20/month just to host it yourself that’s fine
This profile of developer probably wouldn’t pay us anyway so it’s good to make it freely available

A lot of the “management” stuff you will need to hook up yourself. Eg: set up backups with any Postgres tool, set up scaling up/down when you need it, set up multiple projects.
It’s not that we’re trying to “gate” anything - it’s all open source, it’s just that we don’t want to…

so although I absolutely love supabase and use it in production for projects, the self hosted docs/process is pretty lacking.
sure, git clone, some env setup, and docker compose up "works" but is no where near the steps needed to get it to a production ready state.
