Climb that golden ladder Schonz, bingo bango bongo, who knew a voice from the radio could touch so many,
no words can describe the nostalgic euphoria you brought me and others, I just can't put into words what listening to you did for me, you were the pulse of this city. RIp City

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of a true Blazer legend. I used to listen to the final moments of the 1977 Championship on my “Blazermania” album when I was little (with Schonz on the call). I think it was George McGiness that was forcing up the last shot - RIP Schonz 🏀
@kerryeggers
What a great life that man lived. He and Harry Glickman and Chuck Charnquist were truly the lifeblood of the organization. Still enjoying the book you and The Shonz did. Sad day but also a memorable day in Rip City!

I feel so lucky to have met him - even getting his autograph on his book by Kerry Eggers. We will forever remember his golden pipes and all the phrases he coined for us. I will miss him.
@kerryeggers
Was a great man. Glad I got to get to know him during my time in Portland. He left an impact on everyone he came across. Will be deeply missed. Condolences Kerry and to the Schonley family.

"Bingo, Bango, Bongo!". "Lickety brindle up the middle!"
No words can express my grief, but I'm thankful for the voice he gave to help bring Blazer basketball to life! I'm sorry for the departure of your dear friend, Kerry.
