So, I have some news. Super excited to be able to say that I’m going to be a

^^This is power trip stuff right here.
Employers, pro tip: stop expecting candidates to perform an entire circus for you. You already got an application package that took days or maybe weeks to create, plus interview time. Give them the job, or don’t. People are busy.
@SamanthaTaghoy
Oh yeah. So if you don’t have a cervix or ovaries and you don’t menstruate, but you are still a woman, then I think we agree that those things don’t define what it is to be a woman.
@thetimes
Bahaha this article is 300 words of nothing. Call young people unmotivated all you want, but the only thing lazier than buying your house for 75k doing nothing and then selling it for two million might be this reporting. 👏🏼👏🏽
@MarthPaynter
As someone living in a province that is governed by religious zealots and is actively dismantling primary care, I and everyone else should be very worried. Pretty sick of folks telling everyone there’s nothing to worry about.
@OOp00850656
@jobeanz
People love to make fun of parents who quote things their young kids say and say they are lying. And sure some people might be, but talking to my kindergartener is like talking to an old man. It actually does happen.
@ABDanielleSmith
This is sick. I thought I couldn’t dislike you more, but you are actually horrible in every way. I’ve never seen you do a single thing to help another person. I hope you get sued to high heavens for this discriminatory and disgusting policy.
@MarthPaynter
You are in a position of privilege and power and should use that status and your voice accordingly. You have opportunity and knowledge to help people. Abortion access is a very real issue in Canada. Do not reduce what is happening to fear-mongering, it’s insulting.
@cspotweet
@WSOnlineNews
This is insane. This is conspiracy theory. Why is this person in charge of anything. "I don't want to have a scientific committee advising me..." Should be grounds for immediate dismissal. Call an election you coward.
@wpgpolice
Imagine using Major Crimes to investigate someone calling you bad words instead of using them to investigate the actual major crimes…
#SearchTheLandfill
Well
@JyotiGondek
, apparently I can volunteer hours and hours of time walking around neighbourhoods delivering campaign materials for you, but I can’t call in someone on your staff who is causing harm. I expect better than this as a Calgarian. Unhoused folks deserve better

Extra disappointed in Rick Mercer. Shame on everyone silent in the room. Gotta love Canada’s prize culture. Diversity in the sheets (of paper), complicit in the streets.
BREAKING: Protestors disrupt
@scotiabank
’s Giller Prize Ceremony this evening. Scotiabank is funding the genocide of the Palestinian people through its $500 million stake in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer.
@majortominor
Information is coming from too many places. email, online class portals, slack, discord... it's actually impossible to get through all the information sent via the different channels. and then imagine you have that for five classes plus employment... so yeah, possibly.
Smith says anyone who is sick will be able to walk into one of these Shoppers clinics and get care.
Adds it will take strain off hospitals and health care systems, calls it a relief for the overburdened system.
Thanks Shoppers for taking a new approach in Alberta.
Thinking about yesterday when I picked my kid up from school. All the kids were playing and there was a crow right there on the picnic table. I said wow, look at him. And my son said, oh yeah that’s Frederick.
@ABDanielleSmith
@PremierScottMoe
This is so weird because it doesn’t do anything. It’s literally just yelling “no one’s the boss of me” into the void that is Canada, and then nothing happens because it’s made up.
@KevinCTV
Ooo I have some too!
“Maybe the ambulance will come, maybe it won’t.”
“What you save on rent, your pay in multitudes in uncapped insurance.”
“We don’t believe in viruses!”
“We are willing to sink our own ship to own JT.”
“You’re literally on you own. Good luck.”
@demetriosnAB
@DuaneBratt
How about no. Students paid tuition and signed up for the semester with a set of expectations. Instructors and faculty agreed to teach in person with those same conditions. I plan on refusing to teach in person if the conditions of my employment agreement are changed.
@UCPCaucus
@JackieLovelyMLA
Oh weird. I thought the official sport was the Alberta triathlon: a sprint around town looking for children’s fever medications followed by an indie 500-style drive yourself to the hospital when there are no ambulances then finished with an endurance wait at the ER!
@jonesybarber
@amandalhu
How do you wear a mask "aggressively"?? Stop worrying about other people's faces. It seems like the only "aggressive" thing is you getting up in other people's business. And fyi people are probably glaring at you because you are inserting yourself where you aren't welcome.
@daddyandmadi
@funkyneurotic
@IshatReza
@RoyalTyrrell
Okkkkk, so maybe I dunno… hire more women?! If that’s the explanation, your “fairly easy concept” would just highlight a discrepancy in staffing as well as participants. A swing and a miss. 👏🏼👏🏽
@AdamMacVicar
@GlobalCalgary
So like what are they protesting? Because there are essentially no rules here anymore. Ohhhh rightttt… it was never actually about health…
@jordanbpeterson
@theJagmeetSingh
Pandering to what? Show some respect for the women who have been murdered. The fact that you are angry about a politician acknowledging it instead of the crimes themselves shows how much of a terrible person you are. Take another Twitter “break.”
@thetimes
Someone make me a sticker that says “eat toast, die young” that shows an anthropomorphic avocado amidst the climate catastrophe. Plz and thnx.
Did you know that Twitter is a useful tool for cleaning up your bookshelves? Easy to use too! You just watch while people tell on themselves, and then get rid of their books. Bam! More space for new and kind reads.
@citynewscalgary
Why are we choosing to spread germs in general in medical facilities when we could reduce spread? I’ll wear a mask in medical settings forever, seems like common sense, people just can’t bring themselves to say it is common sense because it’s been stigmatized.
Might not look like a big deal, but after a year of health issues that included pain so severe I couldn’t do most household or family tasks (as well as many of the things that give me joy and income), I am able to do a short walk with my dog!
I would love to hear
@UCalgary
respond to this…
#UofC
was on my shortlist for a PhD and just want to know I’m not going to have my rights violated or be assaulted for academic debate while carrying a text book 🙄
Seriously, if a genocide isn’t worth protesting, what is?! 👇
@demetriosnAB
@DuaneBratt
And fwiw, that’s the middle of the semester and new students can’t join classes at that time anyway. Congrats on your weird performative spectacle though 👏🏼👏🏼
@notandrea
So if you are there and you are truly against that type of behaviour. Leave. Say something. Stand up for something. If you didn’t know how to do that before, you have the chance to do it now.
And before all the people who don’t support the mayor jump all over this, I still support our mayor. I believe that you should be able to have a conversation about things that are disappointing as a supporter to inspire continuous improvement. ✌🏼
Even bigger crowd today at the McDougall Centre in Calgary. Protesting the removal of all

I realized after joining a geography department a few years ago, that most people have no idea what the discipline includes. Lots of excellent and important work going on there. I think it’s a great choice!
I'm going to pay my fall tuition with money I made through writing and writing adjacent activities. Might delete this later if folks feel it's insensitive, but I feel like it's a big career building milestone for me. Writing may not pay THE bills, but it paid one bill!
@LauraKrauseNews
News flash for
@ABDanielleSmith
, Albertans DID NOT vote for you. You can only say that after you call an election… so call an election and stop being a power-hungry coward. You got 42,423 votes (on the sixth ballot) in a members-only party leadership race. 1/2
@CalgaryPolice
No one wants you to “work with” the freedom “demonstration” organizers. Citizens want you to shut it down now. I know it can be hard to do the right thing when the people you have to stand up to are your friends, but you supposedly work for the city, so try doing that.
@Tim09866103
@TheBreakdownAB
Even though you mean this as a joke, you're actually getting kinda close with this one. The overall temperature of the globe is rising (this is an average of the whole earth). That's global warming. Locally, ecosystems are impacted differently...
@thehipofficial
In my opinion, it’s not just about being paid by SOCAN. If my art is used to promote something that goes against my values, I may not be able to stop it, but that does not mean they have my permission. It’s okay to say they don’t have your permission even if it’s under SOCAN.
@cbouzy
Oh no. I respect you a lot, but this is not a good take. This is not about telling someone how to respond to terror and I think you know that. I hope you reconsider.
@jacasiegel
My sibling and I are both back in uni as older grad students after working for a while in our respective fields. We worked together to make a “college dad pack” with swag from our two unis as a gift.
Love the enthusiasm! For the folks writing to tell me that I don’t know what words mean—no matter what body parts/health needs you want to include or exclude, healthcare is NOT universally or equitably available to all people living in what is now called Canada. That’s it.
People sitting quietly and listening. Why is
#UCalgary
so afraid of this?! Come now and support the students. Tell admin you are disgusted with their behaviour.
