Ford has shown early he can get these guys to play. His young staff has shown they can scheme this team into positions to get wins. It will take a little time. Ford's biggest strength is his ability to recruit. He keeps that up in the off-season and we are cooking in 2026.

In the first 4 games, Idaho put a lot on the line to finish 4-0. Ended up 2-2 instead with a long list of guys injured. Should they have lost the last 2 games? Absolutely not. Should they have even been in it against their first 2 FBS opponents of the season? No. But they were.

Game 4. vs San Jose St. Defense hangs in early until the Spartans discover the lack of speed. Holding to 31 points with this squad is a win. Offense dominates the line of scrimmage. Wood again impresses. Any one watching the game would tell you Idaho should have won.

Game 3. vs Utah Tech. Defense shores up a Utah Tech offense who had been scoring on Big Sky teams. Again, the scheme is mostly the reason. Players do their jobs, but are not impressive. Offense moves the ball but stalls in scoring territory. Overall, a very forgettable win.

Game 2. vs St. Thomas Tommies o-line and TE group dismantle the defense and we see how undersized and slow we really are on that side. Wood puts the team on his back and gets us enough points to win at home.

Game 1. vs WSU Defense plays their heart out. Amazing scheme from the new D coordinator. Idaho is able to mask their speed issues until the very end. Tackling is the best we have seen in decades. Offense comes up short. But we see what a great athlete Wood can be.

.@VandalFootball football fans need a recap of the off-season and the first 4 games. Off-season. Anyone with a star next to their rating left. Entire defense, gone. Some dudes have stepped up, but overall, the team is young and slow. Wood comes to Idaho b/c of T. Ford.
