Just published: article with Ryan Roberts on the magnitude of the problem of spurious correlations in big search data. Completely spurious correlations of up to 0.97 or 0.98 (for some distributions) pose a major challenge for naive machine learning.

First time I've ever retweeted either Cruz or Warren. But both are right about the problem, even if the solution needs more thought. We need to find creative ways to break echo chambers without censorship. Facebook should set up a way for people to suggest post rebuttals.
