Looks like I'm not the only one annoyed by this.
In the interest of privacy, security, and clarity we’re beginning to phase out SMS support from the Android app. You’ll have several months to export your messages and either find a new app for SMS or tell your friends to download Signal.

.@signalapp this is disappointing. I'm not going to use two apps for messaging, so I'll end up with a less privacy focused app. Dropping SMS support wont stop people from using it. Unfortunately I can't get everyone I know to use signal so I still need SMS.
