Today will feel much more like mid-January than mid-November! We are off to a freezing start this morning, and temps will struggle to get back into the 40s. We will contend with a strong northwesterly flow throughout the day with gusts up to 30-35mph. Feels like temps likely stay

We have a cold night on tap! Northwesterly flow will usher in much colder temps tonight, with many areas bottoming out below freezing. Where the growing season is still active, in Southern MD and Tidewater VA, Freeze Warnings are up! Spotty flurries are also possible overnight!

After last night's thunderstorms, we have a much more seasonal day on tap. A strong northwest flow will usher in cooler temps as many areas will see temps max out in the 40s. Gusts up to 25mph will make it feel cooler. Snow showers are possible in the mountains today, as well.

As our cold front begins to work through, we are seeing showers and even a couple of non-severe thunderstorms develop! These are putting down briefly heavy rain, gusty winds, and a few rumbles of thunder. These should work through over the next hour or two as cooler air works in.

This morning, #HurricaneMelissa is a powerful #CAT5 #Hurricane, and is continuing to strengthen. #Melissa will look to make landfall tonight into tomorrow morning in Jamaica with catastrophic impacts. Cuba and then the Bahamas will be up next early this week before Melissa races

This evening, we are watching Tropical Storm #Melissa in the Caribbean Sea. While she will not move much in the next several days, we will begin to see her rapidly intensify this weekend. She may become a major hurricane by Monday thanks to deep, warm water and little wind shear.
