1/3 The gov't has moved one step closer to implementing the discriminatory and damaging digital services tax (#DST) via Bill C-59, which will increase costs for consumers on everyday products and services that rely on digital platforms. #cdnpoli

As part of the budget bill passed yesterday, the Trudeau government is poised to impose a retroactive digital services tax (DST). The DST is terribly ill-advised and, as @awudrick argued for MLI last year, it risks stoking a trade war with the US. https://t.co/rhN59riG7J

The Trudeau government needs to drop its threat to impose a unilateral digital services tax on U.S. companies

We’ve been saying it for a long time, and more people are noticing. Network investments and competition-driven price reductions have given Canadians more choice and lower prices. 1/6

Consumer prices continue to go up. Mobile prices continue to go down. There is a aggressive price competition today between Canada's mobile operators. Don't believe me? Go to any mall kiosk and see for yourself!

BREAKING! A new @PwC report shows the Canadian telecom sector directly contributed nearly $77B to the economy in 2022, supporting 724k jobs. Canada’s six largest telecoms invested $13.3B last year in capex alone, driving the sector’s economic impact. 1/2

Sunday morning coffee at Aroma. Because boycotts of Jewish businesses in Canada must backfire. Because antisemitism has no place in our country. The beautiful mosaic that is Canada is made beautiful by the vibrancy of each of its tiles. Now is no time to give up on that.

For BC’s Jewish community, recent days have been frightening. A significant rise in antisemitic incidents here in BC evokes painful memories. Combatting this kind of hate begins with learning from the darkest parts of our history, so the same horrors are never repeated. (1/3)

Today, the Premier @dave_eby announced that BC would introduce mandatory Holocaust education for students in Grade 10 in the 2025-26 school year. This is a timely announcement as we see an increase in antisemitism. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

I’ve been grateful to friends and colleagues who have reached out in recent weeks in response to the Hamas terror attacks and open displays of antisemitism. This piece captures the feeling of many I know so well. It really is a must-read right to the end. https://t.co/KghDULsM8g
