Some of the most senior figures in eating disorders seem to think that creating diagnostic categories and funny acronyms is a game. My paper touches on this, including the "joke" that the adolescent version of MARSIPAN might be called "MARSIPANINI"... https://t.co/Eq8Qhm0wUm

Anybody can change from being fit and healthy to sick and bedbound. Anybody can develop chronic health conditions or become disabled or terminally ill. Anybody can change from being employed to unemployed and unable to work. These things can happen to anybody. Anybody.

Feel free to comment (and I will get in touch), or DM me. I only need a couple of people, as I am simply seeking feedback on materials (interview themes) in order to seek ethical approval.

Looking for experts by experience to consult on materials (interview themes/questions) for my #DClinPsy #thesis. It will be a qualitative study (similar to this study that @krichar25 and I conducted) looking at prioritisation of waiting lists in eating disorder services.
Do you have #livedexperience of any #eatingdisorder, or are a #clinician working in #eatingdisorderservices? Please volunteer to support our #research investigating what factors people think should be used to prioritise people in services. /1

There is no such thing as βa sick note culture.β There is a record high NHS waiting list, crippling housing costs, widespread food poverty, stagnant wages and inadequate benefit rates, a broken social care system, dire mental health services, and closed Sure Start centres.
