Like many Syrian children, Myar returned to a city nothing like the one she left as a baby, no safe spaces, few schools, and almost no room for expression. Our Syria program helps children reclaim their childhood through play, creativity, and mental health support.

When a child is injured, scars become a lifelong reminder of trauma. They also impact mental health and self-esteem, especially with bullying. INARA provides holistic medical and mental-health support to help children heal both physically and emotionally. https://t.co/ozIE6rxXsI

For Khaled, traumatic scenes of war took a heavy toll, leading to complex medical conditions, a common impact of psychological war trauma on children. Through mental-health sessions with INARA under the ACWA program, his stress eased and his physical & overall wellbeing improved.

Ahmed, who had a very hard time receiving treatment in Syria for something as simple as a common cold, which developed into an annoying ear infection, was delighted when the mobile clinic reached his neighborhood. It meant he could finally get treatment for the troubling symptoms.

In Syria, this clay shaping activity gave our children a chance to relax, express themselves, and have fun while creating something with their own hands. Clay work helps them make choices; from colors to shapes, and encourages cooperation, imagination, and emotional expression.

Babies like Layan, especially newborns, are at great risk when living in unsafe conditions. They are more prone to injuries, infectious diseases,& allergies. Risks increase due to lack of adequate nutrition, limited access to baby formula,& shortage of essential hygiene supplies.
