Keir Starmer's own Chief Economic Advisor says to join an Customs Union with the EU to grow the economy Keir Starmer says no Labour have created absurd 'red lines' and it is Labour's 'make Brexit work' policy that is keeping the UK poorer by the tune of £90 billion a year lost

@implausibleblog This argument only works if you genuinely believe the Customs Union is some kind of economic cure-all rather than a return to the exact same model that left huge parts of the country behind in the first place. The idea that Britain is ‘£90bn poorer’ because we aren’t inside a

@implausibleblog Labour's red lines are there to protect highly suspicious and lucrative activity (for them not us) and that would not be possible under closer ties with the EU. That is where investigative journalism should aim. Starmer already said we would not rejoin in his lifetime.

@implausibleblog It's as if they don't work in our country's interests. It must be to the benefit of someone just not the citizens of the UK.

@implausibleblog It was also Party before country with the Tories on Brexit... Labour will share the same fate...

@implausibleblog A disaster indeed. We are not going to see real growth and improvements to our living standards whilst Starmer is PM. We need to see him gone long before the next GE, we lost enough time already.

@implausibleblog Royals, Rowers, and Ruins: Elites obsess over "stunning" dresses and £90BN Brexit wounds while the cost-of-living crisis is ignored. Party before country. Pomp over poverty.

@implausibleblog I’m beginning to wonder who Starmer is working for. Not socialism, the UK or a lasting peace in Europe it seems.

@implausibleblog A customs union would only remove tariffs and streamline imports and exports a bit. There would still be customs controls and paperwork required. The goal must be the single market.

@implausibleblog what we need is all of the labour back benchers at PMQ,s need to walk across the house to the lib/dems and greens and say to starmer join the SM/CU or be a minority government

@implausibleblog And @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer are and will lose votes for it .. too worried about the racists and reform and not worrying about decent sensible labour voters .. hello @LibDems and @ZackPolanski and the greens who will clean up the votes from us and you know who that will help 🤷🏻♂️

@implausibleblog @divadarlings1 As much as I support him, if this continues he needs to step aside. It’s an obvious ploy to destroy Reform, a one themed party of bigots & racists. Farage is responsible for our economic decline, it’s his, well maybe also Russia’s Brexit. Starmer has to act and align us to the EU

@implausibleblog Quite. Rejoining the SM + a CU would let Labour take credit for the (inevitable) gains that would follow. "Restoring the UK as the Gateway to Europe" sounds like a vote-winning slogan even McSweeney would approve of. Time for the 2018 version of this guy to make a comeback 👇

@implausibleblog If it's any consolation, Labour are going to be utterly annihilated at the next general election. Exactly because of Keith - Manchurian-Candidate - Starmer and his absurd marriage to tory Brexit. The Greens will replace Labour as the prominent party of the center left.

@implausibleblog 2025 Keir Starmer is more Brexity than 2016 "we can be like Norway" Nigel Farage

@implausibleblog #Labour are toast like the #Torys. Big, brave sweeping decisions were needed on election victory. Utter incompetence instead and chameleon #Starmer only interested in self

@implausibleblog Large majority of people in Uk now want us to rejoin EU. A new referendum should NOW take place. It’s a decision that the voters of The UK should decide. Not a decision that the Government should take alone.

@implausibleblog No! Britain hasn't yet had the time out of the EU to accurately show how we are better off out. Left wing and msm are too impatient and will cause Britain's economic downfall if forced back into the EU.

@implausibleblog Europe’s share of the global economy has been shrinking over time, a trend that is likely to continue as growth in Asia and America outpaces European growth.Good idea to tie yourself to the shrinking block
