Left: Kwasi-I-crashed-the-economy-Kwarteng criticising Labour for paying Hadush Kebatu £500 to leave Right: That time Kwasi Kwarteng's government was paying £3,000 to volunteers to go to Rwanda Whatever you think of Labour's policies, know that the Conservatives were so much

@implausibleblog At least 3 tickets had been booked on that plane, one for Kebatu and at least two for escort. That would have been wasted if he refused to go and new tickets bought later, plus extra legal costs etc. Far more economic sense to do what they did as an official pointed out.

@implausibleblog I’ve done nothing wrong, I’m not eligible for benefits… can the government give me £500 please

@implausibleblog Kebatu threatened to disrupt the flight? If he had kicked off on the flight the Pilot would have been duty bound to declare an emergency & land the aircraft ASAP. The flight would have then ended for all passenger when and where it landed. It would not have carried on later.

@implausibleblog I fear for the conservatives; literally the entire party has early onset Alzheimer’s. They seem to have no idea that the things they accuse Labour of, pale into insignificance next to the crimes they committed. They should all get MRIs pronto.

@implausibleblog By paying £500 and deporting Kebatu so much money and time was saved. Another facile non story. This is the flood the news, overwhelm, confuse and divide tactic. Steve Bannon style every time. @KwasiKwartengUK We don’t need to hear anything from you.

@implausibleblog They're both useless; that's why neither will win power after the next election.

@implausibleblog Paying a convicted sex offender £500,whilst abhorrent, ensured he left the country quietly. Job done, move on. I hope he was handed over to the Ethiopian authorities

@implausibleblog Erm you think so. For me the Bank of England did the damage. The Fabian Society has a lot to answer for.

@implausibleblog These clowns all have amnesia. Pretty sure under his government they paid others to leave. Funny that.

@implausibleblog Labour and Tory parties are two cheeks of the same Westminster arse. Both dead in the water as far as Scotland is concerned. 🏴 #ScottishIndependence

@implausibleblog Was it him or Liz Truss or was it that the dodgy Bank of England wouldn’t back them.

@implausibleblog So early and already such a dumb comment. I suggest you phone a friend ask him why the bond markets insist on a premium on our borrowings. I’ll give you a clue: they are not happy with Rachel’s CV. You’re welcome.

@implausibleblog The Conservatives ran the country through Covid, remember all you luvvies spending all day at home drinking getting 80% pay? They did that. They also had to subsidise everybody's electric after the invasion of Ukraine and still keep the country going.

@implausibleblog Just curious; If, as reported, £500 is the equivalent to 2 years average salary in Ethiopia, how did Kebatu have enough money to pay people traffickers thousands of pounds to get to the UK on a small boat in the first place?
