@implausibleblog The difference is stark: while Johnson and Gove dodged responsibility, @Keir_Starmer stepping up when it counts. ๐๐ Leadership matters.

@implausibleblog Interesting that Keir Starmer had called up 3 COBRA meetings in 1 week and Johnson did not bother turning up for 5...no further comment to add

@implausibleblog I don't know if I have my facts straight (maybe I missed it). But it looked to me like Starmer didn't make a big deal about cancelling his holiday, he just kept working. Action not grandstanding.

@implausibleblog Johnson was writing a book about Shakespeare to meet a publishing deadline and finalising his divorce before the pregnancy of Carrie Antoinette became public. #Priorities

@implausibleblog The difference between someone the Tories @Conservatives thought was appropriate to be PM. Racist, homophobic, lying, cheat! And what @UKLabour and many voters now consider to be re-establishing the "standards" we expect from a PM.

@implausibleblog @divadarlings1 A pattern emerges... 2013 Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is away on holiday when the London Riots breakout, but even though the person nominally in charge of the Met. in day to day matters, refuses to cut short his holiday & return to take charge...

@implausibleblog @loubec6 Iโm sad Keir had to cancel his holiday. He said how important it is that he has quality time with his children and Iโm gutted for them too.

@implausibleblog I often pondered on why Johnson, once he'd become PM, didn't simply tell his publisher, 'well, clearly I'm not in a position to complete this book now' . Then the penny dropped. That would mean having to give back his generous advance. Long since spent.

@implausibleblog Grown ups are back in charge. They may not be ideologically aligned with people and they may even be wrong however they are serious people. If ever there was a crisis that affected your family ask yourself this: who would you want coordinating the effort to save them? Starmer

@implausibleblog @MrsArcanum Thereโs no comparison between Starmer & Johnson. Johnson wanted to be PM because he saw it as a bit of a hoot.

@implausibleblog Ah, a Labour voter - Can you help by making sense of this ๐๐ผ Drs earning over ยฃ100k a year have been given a 22% Pay increase Vs OAPs earning over ยฃ11,250 a year have had their Winter Fuel Allowance Cut Go on, make it make sense?

@implausibleblog @JohnLawArt Is the same @Keir_Starmer who said nothing about removing pensioners Winter Fuel Allowance during the election and seems to have forgotten about launching a new border security command to stop the boats. Not too happy about people having opinions, or peacefull protests either!๐ฒ

@implausibleblog Iโd have preferred if he had gone on holiday rather than his response to the riots tbh

@implausibleblog Letโs not forget that Gove performed fellatio on various colleagues to advance his own career. Was a shit, is a shit and always will be a shit. Wonder who is his new provider now that heโs lost his seat?

@implausibleblog Not to mention Johnson remaining on holiday in 2011 when he was mayor of London and there were serious riots.

@implausibleblog That's not a fair comparison. The riots were a big inconvenience to many, but they were very unlikely to kill more than a few, whereas the response to the COVID pandemic could make the difference in hundreds of thousands of early deaths. Not even in the same ball park.

@implausibleblog Comparing Starmer to the previous government is setting a very low bar. Doing more than the previous administration is not a great achievement. It's the bare minimum.

@implausibleblog Itโs an illusion. Starmer and Johnson both work for the English establishment .

@implausibleblog In the case of the riots, his measures have been very effective. 350 sentenced so far.

@implausibleblog @BarumDean I demand a PM who pre-cancels the holiday he had probably booked before becoming PM in case a bunch of knuckleheads kick off.

@implausibleblog I disagree with most of his policies but I will fully acknowledge his desire for politics to be about service to the British people. In that regard he deserves a lot of respect

@implausibleblog @susan_bagheri Gove at first claimed it was grotesque to claim that Johnson missed the five Cobra meetings.

@implausibleblog Why keep harping on about the past,it's gone...Starmer needs to think about the future and what is the real cause about the unrest in the country which so far he has failed to do. So far all he has done is fanned the flames & robbed the pensioners.
