Oscars opened its doors to AI generated films "The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tweaked its rules in April to make clear that the Oscar doors were open to artificial intelligence. “The tools neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination,” the

@icreatelife I'm not even sure how a movie gets nominated for an oscar. Who is eligible to nominate? If its studio execs than how would an a.i movie get nominated? I would hate to see the same 20 faces who always get on CPPs and early access again and again on X get nominated for oscars too

@francolli Check “Flow” It won Oscar. Usually the reason people get offered CPPs are because they create something impressive that gets a lot of views and companies are interested in that kind of marketing. Best CPPs are paid marketing job. Not all, but most. Oscars is a bit

@icreatelife treating it like a tool instead of a cheat code is the right move. we had the same panic when digital cameras replaced film stock.

@icreatelife I think it's absolutely great, in an own category of course, and I'm looking forward to see some masterpieces!

@icreatelife Excellent. So glad they will not take sides regarding a polarizing issue. Room for everyone, I hope

@icreatelife The Academy got it right. Judge the art, not the tools. If AI helps a filmmaker with a small budget compete visually with blockbusters, that expands storytelling possibilities rather than limiting them. Good content is good content.

@icreatelife When an Oscar is established for the best use of AI generation, the awards will be presented in the form of NFT tokens by a virtual actor.

@icreatelife AI is a tool, as others before it. Luckily more people are starting to see it, step by step

@icreatelife I'm curious if a film is 100% AI-generated (Sora/Veo) but looks photorealistic, does it compete in Best Picture alongside live action, or is it forced into Best Animated Feature? The definition of animation implies frame-by-frame creation, which Generative AI technically fits,

@icreatelife The Oscars had to clarify the rules when most people just care if the story hits. Do you think this shift will actually help indie creators get noticed or mostly boost the same big studios?

@icreatelife Well, with so much of the technology being allowed despite the grievances by people, I guess many are not only seeing more often this technology is here to stay, but many are viewing it as a legitimate tool. I really am looking forward to seeing more of the best of the best

@icreatelife The Brutalist used it and it’s an incredible film. But they blended tech and craftsmanship exceedingly well.

@icreatelife Prediction: When competing with AIs, humans will soon win Oscars only because of DEI policies.

@icreatelife This is great, AI creations should be recognized for what they are. People assume it's so easy to put together a production with AI but as someone who makes longer form video, I do much more than just click a button.

@icreatelife Only the right decision there. Now, category awards must be carefully considered. If the film 100% AI, can the creator(s) nominated for Best Director ? The film can be nominated for Best Animated Features, but can it nominated for Best Movie ? etc.

@icreatelife This marks a fundamental shift in the artistic evaluation system: The Oscars are no longer treating "AI-generated" content as a technical gimmick or ethical asterisk requiring special labeling. Instead, they are normalizing it as just another creative tool

@icreatelife Really? Does it mean now actors just have to sit behind the screen do something with their brain and earn? AI is incredible
