In a severe loss for animal welfare, Coles and Woolworths have delayed removing cage eggs from their shelves. More than 5 million hens remain confined in these cruel systems in Australia. We must push for a ban of battery cages nationwide. Take action: https://t.co/hmN2znwx6H

In less than a week, five whales have been entangled in QLD shark nets. These nets don’t protect people—they just create harmful traps for innocent animals. We’re fighting to have them removed, but we can’t win this fight without you. Donate today: https://t.co/22RKq2qEiH

A total of 5 whales have now been trapped in QLD shark nets in the last 3 days. The QLD Government needs to stop pretending that these useless and destructive shark nets benefit public safety. They must take action and remove shark nets, before we see further tragedies unfold.

We're demanding action from the Queensland Government after two mother-calf humpback whale pairs were caught in shark nets along the state’s southern coastline in only a few days. We need your help to end this horrific program. Image by @GeoffAquino https://t.co/Dyx84a232x

Despite their popularity, manta rays and devil rays are at great risk from commercial fishing. We are pushing for a worldwide ban on the trade in manta and devil rays, ensuring they receive the protection needed for global populations to recover. #WorldMantaDay #mantaray

Aussie eggs labelled ‘free range’ often aren’t as free as you’d think, allowing up to 10,000 hens per hectare. Better welfare is 1,500 hens per hectare or less, and the number should be printed on the egg carton. What’s the lowest hens per hectare you’ve found on egg cartons?

Our Campaign Director Nicola Beynon was in Canberra last week with the Australian Alliance for Animals, meeting MPs to advocate for stronger animal welfare laws and get an update on the ban on hunting trophy imports. There was encouraging support for animals across Parliament.

Our beautiful whale sharks face an uncertain future due to commercial fishing, the shark fin trade and our changing climate. The whale shark has been nominated for listing under the UN wildlife trade treaty. If successful, international trade in the species will be prohibited.

When bushfires hit, echidnas bury themselves deep into the soil, using their powerful claws to try and escape the flames above. That’s why our teams are on the ground after bushfires, searching for the hidden survivors and making sure echidnas get the care they need. 🖤

The perception of fur has transitioned from a luxury good that signals wealth and status to an ethical faux pas. The end of the global fur trade could be within reach, and it would be the biggest animal welfare victory of the 21st century. Read more: https://t.co/qvsDRpuDtQ

Gang-gang Cockatoos are struggling this winter. Extreme cold and wet conditions, combined with habitat loss, leave many without shelter. Wildlife carers are seeing more birds in care this winter; cold, wet, exhausted, and with no ability to escape. #cockatoos #conservation
