Rules: - Only do mandatory battles. Avoid optional battles at all costs. - If I don't run away from wild Pokemon Turn 1, it counts as a battle. - I cannot use any Exp candies, including Rare Candies (Selling them is fine). - I cannot link to any other games (including Home)

- I cannot use any items or Pokemon that I recieve from mystery gifts except for the Mythical Pecha Berry to unlock the epilogue. - This run is only considered complete when I finish the epilogue. - Goal is to count how many battles is required to finish the whole story.

If there's any more rules I need to add, I will add under this reply. I grab Fuecoco as my starter, name it "Sweet Bell" and beat up the first Nemona battle with ease. You are not allowed to run from the catching tutorial, so we capture this Lechonk and name it "Pork Chop".

(If it wasn't obvious, the naming theme is food. Feel free to suggest names for future encounters.) 3rd battle is this Lv40 Houndoom. You can't run so this counts as 1 battle. 4th battle is with Arven and his Skwovet, easily burned down.

5th battle is Nemona2. Her starter is easily defeated, but the Tera Pawmi poses a huge threat to my 0 trained team. I did not ban items in battle since I just want to know the minimum number, so it took me a couple potions to finally beat up Pawmi.

I realized I might need more firepower than I thought, so after entering Mesagoza, I grabbed a Charcoal and gave it to Sweet Bell. Battle 6 and 7 are the 2 Team Star grunts who are trying to recruit their boss for some reason. They are easily burned down.

Oh one thing I want to make clear, although I don't ban items in battle, I will only use the bag comment after I lose the specific battle at least 3 times and also when I'm genuinely stuck with no other better battles to do.

After the whole tutorial, I bought an ice cream cone and declared that I ship the couple of Sweet Bell and Pork Chop. Now they are married. Basically, since exp are limited, I may as well fill up my whole team slots to get as much exp as possible with the exp share.

On my way of hatching eggs, I travelled all the way to Medali to pick up the Leftovers and the TM for Flamethrower. I immediately taught Flamethrower to Sweet Bell. and I'm sure the Leftovers will come in handy some time in the future.

Although we have a type advantage on Katy, she's Lv15, and Sweet Bell is only Lv10 by now. I'm afraid fighting Katy immediately will be too difficult. On the other hand, Carmine uses lv12 pokemon in her first battle, so she's Battle 8 in this run.

Carmine's Poochyena is actually a bit dangerous since it three shots Sweet Bell with bite, if a flinch happens then it's a reset. Her other 2 Pokemon can't really hurt Fuecoco so it's trivial. Battle 9 is the following Keiran, also Lv12 but weaker than his sister. A clean sweep.

Then I got the egg from Jacq and made sure it hatched into a Piplup to increase my type diversity. Hopefully it will be helpful in the long run, but I'm still hard carried by the starter Fuecoco now. I swapped a low level Fuecoco in my team into Piplup.

By this time Sweet Bell reached Lv14, and we have to fight Katy now as she's the lowest level fightable trainer now. Tera fire flamethrower sweeps her, but I actually lost once due to Fuecoco being too slow and all of her Pokemon got to hit a move on Sweet Bell to knock her out.

Battle 11 I was debating if I want to do Klawf (Lv16), Brassius (Lv17 Sudowoodo), or Keiran2 (Lv16 Poliwag), but.... Turned out this Team Star Grunt who only has 1 Lv19 Murkrow was the easiest. I just reset until I got a burn and I was able to two shot it with Lv14 Fuecoco.

Battle 12 of this minimum battle run is.... ...THE STEEL TITAN?? (lv29 BTW) Yeah, I thought that with STAB Flamethrower and a Quick Claw equipped, I have a non-0 chance to beat this thing... and this happened on the 3rd try. Too bad no exp so no evolution 😭

Battle 13 - Steel Titan phase 2 Orthworm decided to only attack Arven so I three shot it with Tera-boosted Flamethrower. The level differenced exp granted 4~5 levels to all of my Pokemon, so after 4 crocs evolving, here we are.

Battle 14 & 15 - Titan Klawf phase 1 & phase 2 Since Piplup is already Lv15 I figured it should be fine enough to deal with Lv16 Klawf. Taught it Surf from the TM I picked up in Levincia, and it surely easily swept through both phases of Klawf. Finally able to dash now.

Battle 16 - Brassius Was very easy with Crocolar, especially Sudowoodo even missed a rock throw. Battle 17 - Keiran2 His Pokemon is also lv16 so I figured I should battle him now. The Poliwag could pose a threat but for some reason only spammed Haze. Was an easy sweep.

Battle 18 - Carmine2 She's easy as she got 2 grass types, also before postgame her Morpeko doesn't have that annoying sash. We also get to be dressed into the Jinbei for the festival, one thing important in there is the exp charm which grants more exp, making things easier.

Battle 19 & 20 is the 2 phases of the Open Sky Titan. Although they are back to back but the battle certainly ended then restarted with Arven's help. Corcolar got a bit low due to Rock Throw hurts, but then I swapped to Prinplup to use Icy wind. Pork Chop also evolved.

Battle 21 - Nemona3 She pops out and forces a battle when you have 2 badges and attempting to enter a gym you haven't beat yet. Good thing she only has 3 mons and she uses the starter weaker than you. The lead Rockruff only leered me twice and got 2-shot by Flamethrower.

Battle 22 - Kieran3 After thinging a bit, before challenging the next gym, I went back to Kitakami to run some plot. Kieran was still easy here. I taught Grass Knot to Prinplup so I had something to deal with his Poliwhirl. The other Pokemon got 2-shot by flamethrower

Battle 23 and 24 was Iono's teir 3 patreons named Marti and Michael. Lv around 22 and 23 so they got easily dealt with Crocolar's Flamethrower.

Iono gets very annoying with the Paralyze-confuse-hex strats, it also doesn't help that Mismagius has 0 weakness and can spam charge beam to sweep my team. It took some tries, but 2 tera flamethrower from Crocolar still KOs this beasts. Just , I have to have the chance to hit.

So, after the 3rd gym badge, Vitamins are a thing I can buy. Yay! So I quickly made sure my main 3 team members are fully EV trained. Maybe not the best spread, but if I really need to, the spread can change. I just need to pick up more junk on the map to sell.

Battle 26- Giacomo Yeah I know there's 30 auto battles in the team base, lets just count them separately and we all know there's 150 auto battle required in this run. I do ban auto battle out of Team Star bases anyways. Bad news - Team Star bases don't give exp. That's bad.

Battle 27 - Team Star Grunt outside of the Fire Base. Due to Star Bases not giving exp, I will put them aside to fight them later, no reason to hurry on them. Battle 28 - Gym trainer Hugo, the one with Kofu in the auction house. Not an easy battle, makes me worry about Kofu man

Battle 29 - Quaking Earth Titan phase 1 It's Lv45... but Iron Treads is also steel type which is weak to fire. It also only knows Rapid Spin (weak move), Iron Head (resists), and Knock Off, so it's really possible. Two shot with tera fire Flamethrower lmao

Battle 30 - Quaking Earth Titan phase2 Similarly just hope it only attacks Arven, and I can 2 shot it with Tera fire Flamethrower. By this time in Paldea the next opponents I can fight are -Kofu (Lv30 but he's water) - Navi base (Lv32) - Larry (Lv35) All not good choices.

So we are back to Kitakami. Imagining doing this challenge without DLC, gonna get stuck in this phase because you can't beat anyone. Battle 31 - Crystal Pool Milotic First team battle with Carmine, so just hope I don't get attacked. I just used Yawn and Morpeko finished it.
